The Multihull Centre was established in 1968, when the late Pat Patterson sailed his own designed and built 42ft catamaran up to a disused brickwork quarry in Millbrook. He decided he liked it so much he wanted to stay. He grew a successful design and boat building business on the site in what we believe is Europe’s first established Multihull specialist yard.
In 2012 Pat’s son Pip was ready to retire and who better suited to move in than Multimarine Manufacturing LTD and Dazcat, who were operating from the quarry next door. It has certainly made an excellent home for all three businesses to work together from.
We now offer a new pontoon layout with power and water supplies, large hard standing for boat storage, workshops and container storage. New toilet and shower facilities and a launderette have been fitted for berth holders.
Millbrook has a very long maritime history dating back to 1442. This was based initially on fishing and later through the dockyards, ferry companies and steam and motorboat companies. We are happy to be carrying on that tradition
