Summer
Twins
is ideally suited to family sailing with her large, comfortable
interior and space for family members to carry out different activities
without being in each others way. The practical, comfortable cockpit,
with its many lounging positions offers protection and safety at
sea and sufficient space for all crew members to be in the cockpit
at the same time. She is very easy to handle and all sail handling
can be done from within the cockpit making her ideal for short-handed
sailing or for families where dad is the main sailor and mum is
busy with the kids!
Summer Twinshas 2 walk in aft cabins with real double beds, clothes storage and dressing area.
The berths, like the saloon seating, are made of fire resistant foam covered with quality fabrics. |
The spacious
comfortable saloon has a 'U' shaped settee with ample seating for
6 adults and a large dining table which folds to create even more
lounging space. It has all round visibility which not only creates
a very light, sunny interior but allows a safe watch to be kept
from inside the boat. There is ample stowage space and bookshelves
and the main electric panel is conveniently located on the aft bulkhead.
The navigation area with chart table and storage drawer for charts,
etc is also found on the bridgedeck just inside the companionway.
The immense practical galley allows you to cook a full meal at sea
or in harbour with ease and space. It is fitted with a double sink,
2 burner gas cooker with hob, cool box and ample cupboards and storage
lockers. The heads are located in the starboard hull and are enormous,
easy to clean and a shower is available as an option.

Ease of
handling should not disguise her excellent sailing abilities and sparkling
performance as shown when she won the 1990 YM Triangle Multihull section.
Her underwater hull shape is fine and fast and the knuckle over the
waterline provides the double bonus of increasing internal volume
and buoyancy and has the effect of "turning over " the waves to reduce
the bridgedeck slam. Summer Twins have sailed many thousands
of miles, including passages from Scotland to Norway, Ireland to France.
They have weathered the ferocity of full Atlantic gales with the crew
still able to cook and eat below decks whilst keeping a good lookout.
Summer Twins is built with your safety in mind;
she has a collision bulkhead forward giving massive reserve buoyancy
and a buoyancy area behind the bulkhead in the sterns.

Aerorig
Summer Twins
Summer Twins
is now available with the exciting new Aerorig® option. The owner
of the first Aerorig® Summer Twins is delighted with his boat
and every one who has sailed her is very impressed with her performance
and with the rig. She is already an easy boat to sail and the Aerorig®
makes her simplicity itself. Tacking has never been so relaxed! We
are sure the Aerorig® will become a popular option and the slight
price disadvantage will be outweighed by the advantages of a rig that
generally looks after itself.
The standard Summer Twins has a fully battened main,
with lazy jacks and a roller reefing genoa. An RYA sailing instructor,
writing in "The Multihull" magazine, wrote ".we found time in sailing
manoeuvres to learn that Summer Twins will tack positively on main
or jib alike". |
